I was welcomed home by raking leaves.
When I came home from fall break, I was welcomed by the changing scenery of the the four seasons. Texas is not so welcoming to fall colors as Chicago is (which is also followed by freezing cold). Needless to say, my mom and dad needed help raking up the fall.
I started to think:
How untouched the fallen leaves would be if it wasn't for suburbial destruction. The leaves are beautiful and colorful. Not one is quite like the other (an expression used for snowflakes, yet underused for autumn leaves).
Foliage--dead leaves. Brownish-orange, yellowish-brown and redish-orange. Russet, amber, gamboge, scarlet, crimson and carmine, maroon, auburn, lurid, carnelian and cornelian.
All natural, all beautiful.
It is amazing how often nature can be overlooked. I forget that beauty is right underneath my feet. Further, it becomes clear that nature is all connected: us to it, it to it, and it to us.

The leaves change because of us, the leaves color from the sun, the leaves change our lives by the scenery (and in this case the work it provides us).
this picture was not taking by me.
